It is Anita O’Day’s birthday.  In my opinion, she was a great jazz vocal stylist.

  1. Anita O’Day at the ’58 Newport Jazz Festival! An amazing event. I would guess that the summer of 1958 was the pinnacle of the jazz generation, if there ever was one.
