I posted another version some time ago, but here it is from the original guy. As I said on my Facebook post (I post far more but not as selective 🙂 on Facebook.) :
“Delta blues singer, guitarist, songwriter.
It’s difficult to imagine the blues rock revolution (not to mention modern blues) without the influence of Skip James….the songs themselves, the motifs, the style of singing.”
———————————————–
Remember poor Alan Wilson of “Canned Heat”? He clearly modeled his singing on that of Skip James. He is the coming to mind right now, but there are certainly more.
Classical, rock, blues, jazz...what interests me. I listen to many hours of music a week and sift out what I consider of particular interest for this site. [My personal background is rooted in classical and the "San Francisco Sound", but I appreciate most genres.]
If you are interested in more than is posted here, you can check my Facebook page where I publicly post much more music most days.
