Michael Manring explains his Hyperbass. The sounds he gets from this wonderful instrument are seemingly endless in variety. I particularly noted his mention of the “movement of tunings”. It seemed to me on hearing a performance that they were not only fascinating in themselves but created a kind of structure or sonic net for the pieces. Am I wrong?
Here are a couple of Michael Manring/Hyperbass videos I posted last year. “Helios” and “The Enormous Room”

Michael Manring on his very cool custom bass. I saw Michael a couple of days ago, and I’m digging this today. (The Enormous Room…e.e. cummings early book about his imprisonment during World War I)
